Global Conference on Managing in Recovering Markets

Australian Centre for Asian Business is hosting “Global Conference on Managing in Recovering Markets” in association with MDI Gurgaon, one of the most reputed business schools in India. This conference is intended to serve as a platform for researchers, business practitioners, academics, policy-makers, entrepreneurs and media-persons to deliberate upon the causes and consequences of the evolving environment, the challenges emanating there from and the strategic responses to these challenges. The conference is a curtain raiser event to identify the required areas of development and research to manage the recovering cross country markets.

GCMRM Conference 2014

The GCMRM Australia Conference has been held successfully with more than 70 delegates from all over the world, particularly a number of scholars travel from India to participate this conference. The highlights of this conference include:

  •  Prof. Marie Wilson, PVC (Business & Law), UniSA, delivered a welcome speech with emphasis on the important relationship with MDI;
  •  Ms. Jane Yuile, Chairman of ANZ Bank (SA), presented a key note address on Australia and Asia –Our economic ties;
  •  Prof. D. P. Goyal, Dean of MDI, presented a key note responding speech on collaboration between ACAB, UniSA Business School and MDI: past, current and future;
  •  Mr. Francis Wong, President of Council for International Trade & Commerce (SA), presented a key note address on Australian business councils’ engagement with Asia;
  •  Prof. Anthony D’Costa, Australian Indian Institute, University of Melbourne, presented an academic key note address on the employment issues and challenges for Indian business.
  •  Multi-disciplinary tracks with focus on cross-cultural management, ethics, & finances; economics; HRM & leadership; strategy, OB & entrepreneurship; marketing, tourism, and international relations.
  •  Future arrangements include publications based on the papers presented in this conference and next GCMRM conference in New Delhi in March 2015.

ACAB and Management Development Institute (MDI) co-host conference.

ACAB Director Prof. Ying Zhu and Research Fellow Dr. Deepak Sardana visited one of the leading business schools in India, Management Development Institute (MDI) between 4 and 10 March. ACAB jointly hosted a conference with MDI on “Managing in Recovering Markets”.
